Today I will be reviewing the current Dermalogica products I use to help get rid of my acne. I’ve been struggling with acne for a number of years now and I recently started using these Dermalogica products. I began using this brand because it is highly recommended and trusted in the skin care world. I also believe the reason for my acne to not be clearing was because I didn’t exactly have a skin care routine set in stone and I was just using cheap cleansers which don’t exactly help with diagnosed acne.

First up is the Dermalogica Pre Cleanse. I must say, this pre-cleanse is one of my favourite skin care products. The oil based cleanse definitely does its job of ‘melting your makeup away’ and prepares your face perfectly for cleansing. I really love this product and will definitely be re-purchasing it once I have run out. I rate it 4.5/5.

The Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash is another great product from Dermalogica. It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh every time I use it. I would consider re-purchasing this product again however I would also love to explore other cleansers on the market and even other Dermalogica cleansers to see if there are any products which work to help improve my acne better. I rate this product 4/5.

Next up is the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. This product is another one of my favourites alongside the pre-cleanse. After cleansing my skin, I use the microfoliant to remove any extra dirt, oil or dead skin. This definitely leaves my skin feeling so soft after exfoliation and I use this product every day. I will definitely be re-purchasing this product once it runs out and I rate it 4/5.

I complete my routine with the Dermalogica Active Moist. This product is a moisture that doesn’t contain any oil products within. It leaves your skin feeling moisturised but also non-greasy. I really like this product in the sense that it contains no oil, however I believe there may be better options out there on the market. Although I moisturise twice daily, my skin is still left feeling quite dry, and whether that is because of other factors to do with my health, I am not sure but I would like to further explore oil free moisturisers which are on the market. I am still unsure whether I will repurchase the product and I currently rate it 3.5/5.

Do you know of any amazing oil-free moisturisers for acne prone skin?

Overall I have been using all these products for around 3-4 months. At the beginning I definitely did see an improvement in the condition of my skin, however I have recently been breaking out quite badly. Although I don’t believe this has been caused by the products (but instead stress, lack of sleep and a bad diet), I feel as though it would be great for the products to work as well as they previously did to help clear up my skin (My skin may have started to become immune to the full benefits of these products due to using them for a fair amount of time).

Dermalogica products sit in a medium to high price range. The products are definitely not something I would go out and purchase without testing and seeing whether the product is right for me. Some products are definitely worth more or less than what they have been priced at.

I hope you found my review of these products helpful and if you have any particular questions please leave a comment below. Part 2 of my skin care series will be posted soon!
